Our Apprentice success rate is above national average
As part of National Apprenticeship Week 2022 (7 – 13 February) Essex County Fire and Rescue Service has been recognising how apprenticeships can boost success in organisations and help people to build their dream careers.
Apprentices in our Service are based across the county, at our fire stations as firefighters, and in support roles such as HR, Finance, and at our Fleet Workshops.
They build their skills and knowledge, while also taking part in formal training, all of which helps in their development and career progression.
Our firefighter apprentices from squad 220 recently completed their End Point Assessment completing their two year apprenticeship.
Apprentice Support Manager Steve Kirkham said: “Our firefighter apprenticeship scheme has been running since 2019 and our Service has formed part of the trailblazer group.
“Our Service now has 100 operational firefighter apprentices currently within the system. Five firefighter squads have already completed their apprenticeship End Point Assessment (EPA) and we are proud to say our Service’s success rate is well above the national average.”
