Chief Fire Officer Rick Hylton has paid tribute to Her Majesty The Queen
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service is deeply saddened at the news that Her Majesty The Queen has died. Our thoughts go out to the royal family at this sad time.
As a mark of respect, flags at Service Headquarters and on fire stations across Essex will fly at half-mast in tribute to the Queen.
Rick Hylton, Chief Fire Officer, said: "Her Majesty The Queen was rightly respected for her extraordinary reign and dedication to our country. Her devotion to a life of service was extraordinary, and she will always remain one of our most recognised monarchs.
"The Queen saw public and voluntary service as one of the most important elements of her role, and we must together remember this work and her commitment to public service.
"I offer my deepest sympathies and condolences to her family at this sad time."
Essex County Council will share information about how and where residents can sign the official Book of Condolence shortly.
